Multimillion-pound development approved for Scarboroughs North Bay
A multimillion-pound leisure and residential scheme in Scarborough has secured planning permission.The mixed leisure and residential scheme has been developed by water park developer Benchmark Leisure and is set to provide a major economic boost for Scarborough.Designed by Wakefield architects’ practice, The Harris Partnership, the North Bay scheme proposes 24 one, two and three bed apartments with commercial units below.There is also plans for a multi-storey car park and restaurants anchored by a £14m, seven-screen cinema which will be run by national operator The Light Cinemas.Construction is due to commence on the cinema element in September to be ready for the 2018 summer season.Work on the remaining leisure-residential elements will be developed at a later date.
